October 23rd

Dear Diary,
Is it that Nigerians are generally stupid, or is it that they just prefer to be really stubborn. Or can someone please explain to me why we can't obey simple instruction that have been laid down to make our lives easier, but most importantly for our own safety.

Every time I have to fly, I find myself asking this same question, why on earth would you want to go against rules that were put in place for you own safety and the safety of others. I mean, come on, if you are not interested in living, please at least consider others who are still enjoying the time they have left on this earth, don't send them to the other side earlier than necessary.

So what am I ranting about, *sigh*, its people who decide that it is ok to turn on their phone at the very moment when it is being announced that passengers should please turn off all electronic devices for landing, that are getting me so mad. Oh and the ones that decide its ok for them to take off their seat belt while the plane is still landing.

I really don't care if you take your seat belt off while the plane is still trying to land, thats your business, its your own safety your are jeopardizing, not mine. But when you jeopardize my safety and the safety of other innocent passenger, you make it my business.

How can any sane human being want to do anything that would jeopardize their safety, why wouldn't you do something as little as turning off all electronic devices? So why are we asked to turn off all electronic devices during takeoff and landing. It has to be something pretty serious right, well yes it is. There are concerns that the radio emission from these devices may interfere with the aircraft's electronic system. Takeoff and landing are pretty important parts of the journey by air, there is a lot of communication going on between the crew and the control tower, so why on earth would you want to do anything that has a possibility of interfering with that.

These communications between the control tower and the crew are crucial to a safe takeoff and landing, so why would you want to do anything to disrupt that. It may be argued that no plane has ever crashed as a result of an electronic device that was left turned on during takeoff or landing. But are you really willing to take that chance, with the number of plane crashes we have had in Nigeria, do you really want to find out if an electronic device that was left turned on can bring down a plane. If you do not care about your safety, please consider others who like living on earth.

On a lighter note, who has ever been on a plane where the passengers start clapping, singing and praying after the pilot lands the plane safely. Lmao, really, did you expect the plane to crash.
